Post-Storm Checklist

Picture of storm clouds
  1. Contact Accent Roofing to assess the extent of the storm damage and, if necessary, to make temporary repairs in order to minimize further damages to your property.
  2. Contact your insurance agent to notify them of the date/extent of the damage so as to get the claim process underway.
  3. When an appointment has been made with the adjuster, notify an Accent Roofing representative of the date/time of the inspection in order to ensure that the entire scope of damages to your property will be accounted for and included in the claim.
  4. Once the adjuster's summary is received, contact us to review it. If necessary, we will gladly work with the adjuster to iron-out any lingering discrepancies between our estimates.
  5. If there is a mortgage on your home, their name will be included on your first insurance check. Out of town mortgage companies will likely require that you mail it to them for endorsement, so contact them for step-by-step instructions on how to get your insurance check endorsed and sent back to you. Note: Unless requested by your mortgage company, do NOT endorse the check yourself prior to sending to mortgage.
  6. Picture of a large piece of hailIn the meantime, an Accent representative will advise you of all the shingle options available to you, go over all of the details of the repairs to be made, then schedule a date for them to be completed.
  7. After all the repairs have been made to your property to your satisfaction, Accent Roofing will invoice your insurance company so all remaining applicable depreciation is released from the claim and promptly sent to you.
  8. Upon receiving your final depreciation check and getting all necessary endorsements, contact your Accent Roofing representative to have it picked up.
